HDTV audio problem

Hey guys, i just recently bought a Sony Bravia W series and while watching tv on the HDPVR or ps3, the audio would cut out for a second and come back on. The video keeps on going but its just the audio and its quite annoying. Anyone know why this happens?
the PS3 and hdpvr is both connected via a HDMI cable.

thanks,

Check out this link. It mentions unplugging the set for 2 minutes. Whether or not that works, you may want to contact Sony. The unplugging thing is not a fix, though. That's something they should have to repair.

mm ill try that, that might be the issue...
and i am getting an 5.1 audio system, do you think the audio problem will continue?

If you're getting a system, then the problem won't happen, if you connect the sound directly to your receiver.

I hate LG. Went through two sets for my family. Once arrived with dead pixels everywhere. The 2nd died within 5 hours of watching.

Needless to say I returned the LG for a Samsung. What a pain in the ass to have to change a big TV so many times. Samsungs been solid since.

Are the Bravias still made in Japan? Mine is JDM :)

You do know that LG stands for Lucky Goldstar two of the worst names in electronics before they merged.

^^^

They certainly have done a good job in establishing LG as a recognized brand, though.

The audio problem may actually be a signal issue from Shaw. Happens sometimes with the PVRs. In my experience, if HDMI is the problem, it's obvious - HDMI problems aren't intermittent.

Check your home cable setup for improperly terminated connections, excess splits and other stuff that could degrade the signal. You could also try calling shaw.

---

As for LG - not supporting or defending the brand, but they have come a long way and they are one of the few companies in the world that actually manufactures LCD panels. It wasn't too long ago that Hyundai was considered poop. Honda as well...
