CHICAGO - The robber's threatening note made a Chicago bank job easy to solve: The FBI says the suspect wrote it on his pay stub.

An FBI affidavit says the man walked into a Fifth Third Bank on Friday and handed a teller a note that read "Be Quick Be Quit (sic). Give your cash or I'll shoot." The robber got about $400 but left half of his note.

Investigators found the other half outside the bank's front doors.

Authorities say that part of the man's October pay stub had his name and address.

The suspect was arrested at his Cary home. A judge ordered him held without bond Monday. If convicted of bank robbery, he faces 20 years in prison.

Wow... talk about dumb.

blkgsr 12-31-2008 07:08 AM

wow 20 years....the american sentencing system is WAY too harsh

if he had held hostages, waved a gun around etc etc ok then give him something but passing a note and only getting $400 = 20 years????

give him 3 years and move on

no wonder their jails are so over crowded

anti_rice 12-31-2008 07:24 AM

I love the American justice system. Criminals deserve punishment unlike here in Canada. Slap on the wrist and that's it. In one door out the other.

blkgsr 12-31-2008 07:26 AM

so you'd rather have half out population in jail....don't get me wrong, i agree out system is WAY too lenient (spl?) but 20 years for this?

that asshole that stabed his "friend" 30 times up at holyburn only got 6 years or so......THAT pisses me off

Shun Izaki 12-31-2008 07:36 AM

That's as awesome as the person with the speech impediment trying to rob a bank, when he has a problem saying "hundred"

hotjoint 12-31-2008 07:48 AM

Gh0stRider 12-31-2008 07:51 AM

The_AK 12-31-2008 02:16 PM

maybe he was set up? haha Someone got a hold of his pay stub and robbed the joint...
Of course I'm sure American investigators would figure this out of this was the case.

cheating with a 1% homework assignment will get you the same amount of suspension as cheating in a final exam.

doesnt matter if its 400 or 400,000, he robbed a fucking bank.

if his lawyer is good, he might receive a lesser sentence, but he's a bank robber none the less.
