JVC LCD Deck Opinions

Was looking for a new deck and stumbled upon the JVC KW-AVX810 which is a double din and has a removable LCD screen.
As far as I know this is the only full size lcd deck that has a removable screen which I like.
But how is the sound quality, image, interface, etc of this thing?
I always thought JVC made crap decks so that's the only thing holding me back. However, on Crutchfield's, someone said it sounded just as good as an Alpine??

We have sold and installed them before. They seem easy enough to use. Interfaces are available for pretty much anything you want to add on, except for navigation, which is built into the 7000. The image is comparable to the Alpine, Pioneer, Panasonic...
JVC has just reached an agreement with Kenwood to join forces to provide us with better quality and cheaper pricing. It should be good for all of us.
We can show you a comparison between an Alpine screen and a JVC screen here in the shop. One of show cars has both in it.
As for sound quality, it's difficult to determine. I have yet to be in one kind of car that has the exact system in it, one JVC, and the other Alpine. I can, however tell you that it does have a nice warm sound. That's why we're using it for a sound quality system.

Hey thats my car!
I have the JVC KW-NX7000 and so far I love it! Sound? Not quite gotten there yet but I can't wait to hear it. Looks fantastic and is even better than my Alpine TMEM-710 standalone screen that was very expensive.

thanks for the great review
but I was wondering have you had any returns due to busted screens?
I heard some people say that the detachable feature tends to cause the lcd to break easily.

Also how does it compare to the panasonic CQ-VW100?
And is summer heat causing lcds to fade a big problem?

Never heard of busted screens. The detach face is kickass. Very strong and reliable so far.

Panasonic? They haven't been a 12 volt audio/video contender for years. Last Panny I installed was pretty low quality.
