you should give canon a call before you ship. This way they will be expecting your flash, as well you'll be issued a service ticket for the repair.

yea i'll definately give them a call before i ship it. like you said, get a ticket so they wont be like wtf whos this lol

I had the same problem you did....

When it dies, did you check the batteries? For some reason, mine drains batteries really quick when I first got my flash. After several charges to the batteries, I get consistant number of flashes expected.

yea I checked the battery. Swap them out, same deal

do you guys know if the same thing should be done for fuji - calling them before hand to get a service ticket?
I have a broken point and shoot Fuji, and i want to send it out to their repair centre but they have weird rules (i.e. they want me to send them a signed, blank cheque just in case something goes wrong or they need to charge me for the repairs). Don't really feel comfortable with that.

Can anyone suggest anything?

If I can recall correctly, since I live in Richmond and they have their repair centre in Richmond, I just brought my camera directly to them and they gave me a ticket right then and there. Are you back here in the Vancouver area, Dot?
