Post your favourite race footage vids I've seen too many over rehearsed choreographed videos of drivers doing fancy tricks, big jumps, and packing as much "Xtreme" into my monitor as possible. So show me your favourite vids. And if you want, explain why it's so damn cool. Check this out. No snowboarders, no conveniently placed props, no huge strips of tire rubber left over from repeated practice runs. Carlos is simply too ecstatic from winning a world championship event to refrain from sliding around McCrash. Way cooler than any Subie spinning around a guy on one of those "I'm way to lazy to walk" thingies. Plus this Cosworth sounds awesome in comparison to our modern four bangers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzXM9MTAq2g This one's a long time favourite of mine (I may have posted it on revscene before). Imagine maintaining that level of intensity for probably 4-5 hours of competitive driving. If I was the guy giving out pace notes I'd surely piss myself. Fortunately I probably wouldn't notice until the end of each stage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJB8BtkSEHM |
I like this one from Nanaimo, as I gre up on the MX tracks in Duncan, Nanaimo and Port, as well as a few others in BC. It brings me back a few years, though the track looked a lot different back when I rode it. "Climb Dance" In which Ari Vattanen makes Pike's Peak his bitch. Great cinematography, great run. If this doesn't make your pants tighter, you should take up shuffleboard. I like to call this one "Big Swinging Brass Balls" Alex Zanardi dive bombs Bryan Herta at the 1996 Cart Race in Laguna Seca. On the last lap. In the corkscrew... Racing is for losers who can't street race. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiIYEmpWaaQ you'd think they'd atleast put up a warning flag or something... but no. crazy fins! |
Goddamn crazy fins! at first I thought they all had a bad note, then I read that there were no notes. What a nutty culture, I think I know where I want to retire to. |
