Canadian Customs...Fail.

I ordered a sweater online and once it arrived, it got held by customs. So I filled out the one time power of attorney forms to have it cleared. however, after sending them this form, the sweater is somehow still behind, got shipped to toronto for some reason. so i called DHL, who explained that customs emailed the website that sold me my sweater for the sweaters fabric content
WTF????

I like how they sent it toronto. then back to richmond. then back to toronto in the same day.

The issue is DHL. They're the worst company I have ever dealt with and I will never purchase anything that is shipped through them. And be warned, DHL will keep giving you excuses and the run around to the point where you feel like going postal on their customer service reps but when you think you're package is forever lost some DHL jackass driver will delivery it and leave it at your front door, in plain sight so anyone can steal it even though the package has a signature option.

Edit:

Oh, and they're notorious for showing "out for delivery "customer not home" even though you were home and no DHL came by.

muteki 01-05-2009 03:33 PM

Yeah... DHL sucks.

El Bastardo 01-05-2009 03:49 PM

I believe Ulic has something to say about this issue

is it possible they have a richmond in ontario as well? im assuming its moving from terminal to terminal while they determine whether it could be shipped to the west side.

and i can actually believe them when they say they have to contact the manufacturer of the clothing. you wouldnt believe what type of information my broker needed in order for me to clear a few company shirts through the border. it was ridiculous!

Yup...they are very specific. Some of the things they require are: material type, material content, country of manufacture, country of origin, etc. Shipments get delayed by customs if these are not properly filled out by the shipper.

Razor Ramon HG 01-06-2009 12:38 PM

I've used DHL several times, and have never had a problem whether it was shipping/receiving or having an item picked up for delivery.
