out of those 2. get the samsung. the LG's picture is really grainy on regular cable.
like Manic! said. look at panasonic. best bang for buck. you wont regret it. i have one myself

i would get a panasonic but it doesnt have a pc input and i need to hook up my computer to it

if you push beyond 50 in, you need it to be better than 720

then again, HDMI xbox on 42 in on my 720 P is already orgasmic.
to tell you the truth 50% cable = crappy pic
20% avi movies
30% gears of war
i'm fine with my 42 inc.

Dont want to create a new thread for this so here is my question:

Plasma vs LCD, which one has longer life before you have to replace the burnt bulb?
Is it worth replacing the burnt bulb or just buy a new TV?

ya, whatever its called!,, i know they are not rear projection TV, I just want to know which one has better lifetime usage. Don't want to buy a TV with shorter lifespam.

.Renn.Sport 01-10-2009 05:58 PM

either will last long enough until the current technology is obsolete

Eclypz 01-10-2009 07:11 PM

Plasmas are usually considered the technology that has the shortest life span, but to put things into perspective:

I think most modern plasmas are rated about 60,000 hours of watching ....That's almost 7 years of continuous watching!
(LCD is ~70,000-80,000hrs)

I highly doubt you'll use your TV 24/7, so, even at 12hrs per day, you're up to almost 14 years of life.

In other words, you have better things to worry about :)
