Sony and Samsung has the best line up of LCD TV on the market today. Sharp has lost a lot of market share recently simply because Sony and Samsung make better TVs. LG is shit unless you get the Scarlett Series. Olevia? I'm sure it's the best bang for the buck but quality and tech will never reach the brand names. I was recently on the market for a new TV and that's where my information came from.

I guess 200hk is enough to buy your dignity, you'd have to pay a china construction worker more than that if this happened in China. lol

some more reviews..
http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/Olevia_747i_Review.htm
http://www.wired.com/gadgets/display...7/tv_scorecard

olevia's parent company filed for bankruptcy, but warranties will still be honored through the company that olevia was sold to i believe.

i've read nothing but good things about this tv when i was in the market for one, so it kinda seems unfair that everyone is hating on asian_xl because they are unfamiliar with the brand. according to one of those review sites, it's rated higher than all other brands tested in the 38-49 inch category.

taken from rfd.."Do a Google search and read all the reviews about the 747i. It incorporates the best video signal processor currently available and has a solid overall build (hence its 150+ lbs weight)."

edit: of course the reviews are old and olevia has probably fallen out since it was sold, but all i'm saying is the brand isn't as bad as you guys seem to think.
for the record, i have a sharp and regret wasting the money on it.

fetched, seriously, from the way you talk, you are no different from Hyde. I
don't know about you, but sometime you don't need to fill your house with
only high end stuff. Besides, in the beginning of this page, I never mention
anything that they are first tier products, and I never say they are comparable
with the high end stuff. lol so I have no idea why you bring all these brands
into this thread.

It's like I just bought a civic, then you say shit about I have no taste, I
should have bought a ferrari, lambo, porsche etc trying to deteroriate me.
What are you trying to prove? really.

china construction workers? let me guess...they must be making $40usd an
hour, so $30 is nothing to them...right. That makes sense fetched, that
makes so much sense. "Oh, free money, do not want!"

One last thing, thanks for educate me that Sony and Samsung are the best.
I would definitely pay 2, 3 times more for the same size next time to watch analog TV.

Thread fail...this should be closed.

Hot Karl 01-07-2009 05:42 AM

alot of haters in here. they must have been clicking on old XL threads with thai surprises

cdizzle_996 01-07-2009 06:15 AM

I think asian XL is a cronic bullshitter.

KJQL 01-07-2009 06:16 AM

Hey asian_XL, can I still get a cheap Olevia TV's in Hong Kong?

Probably can't get it for the $400 clearance price...but are there other places that still sell them for pretty cheap? I'm looking for a 30-something inch Full HD one.

Thanks

Olevia's LCD panel are from the same Taiwanese company that also makes panels for Sony..I think the quality of them is supreme.

akira112 01-07-2009 07:35 AM

Good deals you got on those LCDs. Ppl just hating because they've not been exposed much to that brand. Was available at a lot of retailers in the states and lots of positive reviews.

I never said I only buy high end stuff.... I'm not gonna buy a 50" Kuro to let my factory workers watch tv in the cafeteria... thats stupid....they are consider lucky since they get to watch tv from some old 720P LCD we had before we upgraded all our TV to Full HD. everywhere else near the factory, people are still watching CRT or no TV at all LOL

I need those STB also..... HK house already have enough STB, but now we can even get HD signal from HK in the china house :D

fetched 01-07-2009 10:17 PM

I never said anything about Olevia being bad TVs, i just thought it was stupid of you to diss Samsung when most of your TVs are POS.

Mugen EvOlutioN 01-07-2009 10:51 PM

in HK yawn, who the fuck cares

we are in vancouver

im sure somewhere in china there is a piece of shit LCD selling for less

ZhangFei 01-07-2009 10:55 PM

how big is your apartment house in hk? what do you do with all those tvs? are they all plugged in?

Amuse 01-07-2009 11:48 PM

Olevia and Samsung quality is about the same, just a huge price difference for the brand
