I think you can't exactly ask anyone the answer to that, as every person is different. Different people have different tastes.
But if you ask me I guess someone who makes me happy and I'd do anything for no matter what.

yup, no definite answer...she must be someone you would want to spend the rest of
your life with (obviously). My wife must be someone who I can share my experience, so
either we go to the same school or work in the same industry, otherwise, I can't foresee
we can have any common topic to talk about, you should know how painful it is to listen
to her if you don't know wtf she's talking about.
imagine you are at the dining table and she only talks about how difficult it is to mix
some chemical at a chem lab, you probably want to kill yourself before you finish your meal.

In my inexperienced opinion,
I would think a girl who is wife material is a girl who would actually make me want to have kids with. But then what do I know?

im oppisite of Asian_XL
if im looking for a wife, then im in it for the long haul..
at which point i want someone that has a different job, and goes to a different school, because that way we have different things to talk about, and things will stay new and fresh longer..
if she works at the same place i do, then what are we going to talk about, just complain about the same co workers everyday.. Ya not apealing to me, even if shes talks about Boring stuff, its more interesting them then her talking about the same thing i did all day.. (I just did that for 8 hours, why would i want to hear my wife talk about it at dinner)
Also no games..

Peace. | lol, virgin much? opposites attract for about a minute. when you're talking about years into decades of marriage you'll want similar interests and talking points. look around and see that folks do not change. that's why you get a woman who you like as is, and likes you as is.
have you seen relationships where they are opposites? it always ends in epic fashion. 1 will always eventually try to change the other no matter how good it started.

You need a bit of both. If you have everything in common it's boring, you don't grow together and more often than not, you end up growing apart because you started off the same.
Most older married people that have a solid marriage have learned to accept each others differences. It is learning to understand those things that make each other different makes the marriage strong.
This is usually why people have an affair. They meet someone who can understand them and is in the same industry. The illusive side of someone being the same can be interesting but it can hurt you in the end.
Not saying you have to be 100% different, some things do need to be the same but exactly the same is trouble.

My simple answer would be someone you cannot be without. I'm an advocate of giving it a test run first and move in together before taking that next step. I was with my wife for over 7 years before getting married living together for much of it. I don't regret doing that at all.

Someone I can not live with out. The cooking and cleaning stuff are all minor compared to the love and trust we must feel. Someone who I can see myself with 10,20,50 years down the road with while being happy.
