SHL Assessment Test

Anyone done these? TD Canada Trust is making me do one before they set up an interview for me. Any hints and tips would be appreciated ^_^

wouwou 01-14-2009 10:36 AM

just ALWAYS pick the high road.

iwantaskyline 01-14-2009 10:38 AM

^So basically pick whatever makes you the perfect employee?

CRS 01-14-2009 10:43 AM

Pick the answer that is true for you.

Don't sound like an angel, they'll see right through it.

!YaoShi 01-14-2009 10:47 AM

Correct. Answer whats true to you. Don't answer what you think they want to hear.

that wont' work either.

I reality if I see my co-worker taking a box of pen from the office, I would probably laugh at them and let it go.

If he/she comes in late/leave early for parties, I won't mind covering for them.

But these answers won't get you hired, 100%.

iwantaskyline 01-14-2009 10:58 AM

^ So wouwou, what exactly do you mean by the "high road". Pick what would generally be the correct answer?

Skyliner 01-14-2009 11:24 AM

what does SHL stand for? I work for TD, what position are you applying for?

there are questions that have scenarios in which "minor" mistakes are performed by your co-worker.

always do the right thing.

So if the question states "If your co-worker came late 10 minutes without anyone knowing, would you tell your supervisor or let it go?" I would answer yes I would let my supervisor know? Or give my co-worker a second chance?..

Skyliner 01-14-2009 12:26 PM

I don't think I ever had to answer those questions... maybe they changed the hiring process... which branch did you go for an interview?

Rev 01-14-2009 12:35 PM

Wow talk about difficult process for just teller! Is it the job market?! So many tellers I know from other banks get hired on the spot after a brief informal chat with the Branch / Assistant Managers!

wouwou 01-14-2009 12:39 PM

^that's what I thought too.

I guess the labour market improved for the employer, a lot

wuuhoo 01-14-2009 03:23 PM

how old you gotta be to apply for td ?

Spoon_SIR 01-14-2009 03:38 PM

Just got hired a month ago.. just pick what you think is the best answer.. some answers are pretty obvious.

iwantaskyline 01-14-2009 04:30 PM

^I noticed they asked a lot of questions again and again by just rephrasing it..

Speed2K 01-15-2009 02:07 PM

Wow, do other banks require this type of tests now for CSRs too?

wyattH 01-15-2009 06:40 PM

say what they want to hear for most of it, put in a few honest slips here and there...
good luck
