Groomer in Richmond

Hey

Does anyone have a good groomer in Richmond? I've been to Cilie's and some other girl that does it at her house, both cost around $30, any recommendations?

Thanks!

Bobo's Grooming on the corner of Saba + Buswell.

I've been going to her for the past couple of years. Awesome groomer and she really takes her time with my dog. I usually spend a good 20-30 minutes when I pick up my dog just chatting with her. Really nice woman that loves what she does and it shows. Costs $28 for a full groom.

Thanks! We'll try them next month.

Did you get a chance to check her out? My dog is due for a grooming within the next week or two

Bobo's is ok. It cost me $33 for just a wash. My dog didn't freak out when we went unlike when we went to Cilie's. He smelled good for a couple of days. His nails weren't clipped and his hair wasn't cut. At Cilie's he gets everything done for about the same. And he smells better for atleast a couple of weeks. Well, he'll be visiting Cilie's tomorrow. Hopefully he'll be happier this time.

there's this one right at the corner of no.3 and francis. in the same complex as the convenience store, brought my dog there for her first time! they're not bad. prices are pretty fair too i think. she smelled like apples when she came back! it was great.

so they just do like a shampoo n clipping right?
cant that be done at home? i just take a bath with mine until i found out i'm only supposed to wash him twice a year

Durrann1984 08-04-2009 03:54 PM

cilie was $55
for clipping and shampoo

too expensive?

The cost of a shampoo + brush out or a shampoo and clip will depend on the size, the type of clip and if it's difficult or not. The thing with a groomer is find one that the dog is comfortable with and does a good job. A good groomer should have time to answer any of your questions regarding the dogs grooming at home and health in terms of skin + coat.

$55 is not a bad price for a bath and clip, depending on what breed, clip, etc.

You're only suppose to shampoo a dog a handful of times a year. I guess it'll be more if your dog gets extra dirty. The more you wash your dog the more oils get sucked out of their fur.

my breeder said that washing often is bad was a urban myth. if you think about it, dog show dogs get washed every time they go on stage and their coats are soft and shiny. we wash our shiba at least once a month. we pay a groomer because we're too lazy to clean our tub after we wash him. :)

well sibes clean themselves like cats. after mine's all dirty from playing in the dirt, he'll lick himself clean within the hour. yet another reason why i love sibes

Is that Little Buddies? I used to bring my dog there a long time ago. They did a decent job. One time I went to pick him up, and they told me they didn't want to cut my dog's hair any more and wouldn't give me a reason why! I was like WTF did my dog do?!?!

Personally I've been taking my dogs to Apets in Richmond for the past 7 years. The owner Peggy seems realy knowledgable and they do a decent job. I don't really have anything to compare with so like I said this is just my opinion.
