2010 Mercedes-Benz E-class Microsite

New Mercedes-Benz W212 E-Class

Quite a few new toys they've come up with. Among them:

CGI Direct Gasoline Injection - up to 23% improved efficiency compared to existing (same but non-CGI) engine.
Attention Assist - watches driver's habits and chimes (and displays a cup of coffee :D) when it senses the driver is dozing off.
Lane Departure Warning - shakes steering wheel when it thinks you are about to leave your lane untentionally.
Forward-Looking Infrared Camera - imported from S-class, helps you see pedestrians and animals in the dark.
Intelligent Headlights - not only do they move up/down/left/right, but they also dim when the car senses oncoming traffic, then brighten again after the other vehicle has passed.
Blind Spot Warning - warnings flashed in mirrors when objects detected in blind spot while switching lanes.
Distronic Plus - Imported from S-class, maintains distance with vehicle in front. Now it brakes AND accelerates the car to maintain the proper distance.
Speed Limit Monitoring - (might be Europe only) Car actually reads speed limit signs as you drive by, and reminds you of what the limit should be if you exceed it. Might get annoying if they don't let you set the +10km/h thingy, but cool technology nonetheless.

I just hope this technology eventually trickles its way down the lineup, instead of only sitting at the E/S level.

I wonder when Mercedes will come out with a car that requires no human input, everything will be automated and the driver is basically a passenger. 2014?
