try backing up all the saves and restoring your PS3 os

how do you do that?
know of a link or walkthrough?

theres a thing in the system settings "complete system restore" or somthing like that

it does pretty much everything itself, the full one takes about 3 hours

does it make an autobackup for saved game files and such? or does it fully delete everything and start over?

you have to go to back up OS first..
or you could try manually copying all your game saves to flash drive/mem card/external HDD.

well seeing as they're all "melting" in the same kinda way it seems like its an intentional thing, maybe designed to make it look like things are "melting" based on how long your PS3 is on?

nope....i left my ps3 on for easily 2 weeks and it never happened.....a year later i leave it on for half a day and it is happening

I'm not saying its something Sony put in, it'd be the result of something that was added.

can always use a portable harddrive to back up your system (game saves and everything else in there) and then restore it
or put in another harddrive and transfer all the data into it and see if its still melting
