99' Pontiac Grand AM driver side window problem!

The driver side window regulator called it quits. I got a quote of around $320 just for the part from the mechanic. I was thinkin of ordering an aftermarket through the internet. Are these parts as reliable as the OEM or should I just look for one in a junkyard?

Thanks for all the advice.

Im not a GM Specialist but does the regulator come with the motor?

The regulator and the motor are seperate units as far as I understand it and have to be purchased seperately. The motor seems to be ok though. I don't mind if it's any other window but, it's difficult to get tickets for parking or order food without the driver side window.

$320 seems a tad too much for a regulator. Even BMW regulators w/o motors are under $200.

I don't think there is an abundance of aftermarket regulators but I could be wrong. Check Lordco, Napa, First Choice autoparts then go look for used ones at junkers.
