The amount of gear you should bring depends on how you will be getting around. If you are renting a car, you can carry twice as much. If you are backpacking, you are probably best off with a point-and-shoot. At the most a SLR and one lens. It sounds like you might be on a bus tour, so you can carry medium amount. YMMV depending on your photographic dedication. There are a lot of churches to see in Europe. You really need a UWA to shoot them. The crowded narrow streets in the old cities often requires a WA. |
I think I'm going to go with the UWA (either the Sigma 10-20 or the Tokina 11-16...which ever I can find at a good deal) and the 18-200... I'm not backpacking this trip by any means...it'll be plains trains and automobiles the whole way... I think I should be pretty set with the UWA and the 18-200. Now to find either of those UWA lenses at a good price... |
