Snowboard Size: Measure height or use snowboard calculator? I need some clarification. Which is the best way to pick a snowboard size? Measuring to your chin or using a snowboard calculator like http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htm? I get very different results using both. |
It depends what you want to do with it and where you want to use it. Usually beginners line it up to their chin/nose. |
most good stores will size you up for you like pacific boarder or comor. |
Snowboard size is mainly determined by weight, not height. Hence the weight ranges (and not height ranges) that manufacturers recommend for boards. Chin-nose test is bogus. After weight it's riding style (i.e. shorter for park, longer for freeride, etc.), and obviously personal preference. |
yes, weight is a huge one 2 people person a, 6ft tall 200lbs person b, 5ft tall 200lbs they would use a similar size board as the board has no idea how tall u are, just the weight standing over the board and then it is riding style. |
