Snowboard Size: Measure height or use snowboard calculator?

I need some clarification. Which is the best way to pick a snowboard size? Measuring to your chin or using a snowboard calculator like http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-guide.htm?

I get very different results using both.

It depends what you want to do with it and where you want to use it. Usually beginners line it up to their chin/nose.

most good stores will size you up for you like pacific boarder or comor.

Snowboard size is mainly determined by weight, not height. Hence the weight ranges (and not height ranges) that manufacturers recommend for boards. Chin-nose test is bogus. After weight it's riding style (i.e. shorter for park, longer for freeride, etc.), and obviously personal preference.

yes, weight is a huge one
2 people
person a, 6ft tall 200lbs
person b, 5ft tall 200lbs

they would use a similar size board
as the board has no idea how tall u are, just the weight standing over the board

and then it is riding style.
