Yup the correct romanized spelling of the word is with a C. Think coerce, coalition, code etc etc. So others, like myself use a C whenever possible to help shed like on the matter. The whole K thing came about during the Japanese occupation. It was in line with their aim to destroy our identity (art, literature, martial arts). Somehow it became more widely known with a K and seemed to stick. Interestingly, the French still spell Corea with a C. :) |
