Lowering question...
 

hey guys.. i have a is350 recently put some 19"s on it.. and i think i need to lower it a bit maybe an inch or so.. anyone know what kinda spings or coil overs or wat i should get that would give it a nice drop with out any rubb ?

knowing what offset and width of wheels you have will help determine how much drop u can handle.

if you want to lower an inch or so, then eiback prokit is what ur looking for. a bit lower and the H&R sports are what u are looking for. complete control over the stance of ur car and u want to invest in coilovers.

Just to give you an idea of pricing, when I had my accord I threw on new struts and lowering springs. This cost me just under 1K

Coilovers could probably cost you at least $900, but I think price for both may vary a tad depending on the car

it depends on the width and offset of the wheels..and the size of the tires

Ive seen IS250/350 run staggered setup with wheels 9.5" wide with +30 offset in the rears lowered too on coils..

i think my rears are 235's on and 8" wide tire ? i was told today i shoulda got 265 for rears but then id have to roll my fenders or somthing liek that...and itd cost and extra 400 bucks to do that

235s? are ur not running staggered are you?

235s on an 8" is fine.

i think most i have seen are 8.5s and 9.5s on the new is's. if ur willing to roll ur fenders and do a little bit of body mods, u can squeeze in bigger wheels.

I wouldn't suggest coilovers for you car since you haven't already thought about it

some shock and spring will do you very well

you might want to change your shocks depending on how old they are and what type of ride you want, but since your car seems relatively new i'd suggest the Eibach Prokits. I LOVE these springs and they'll give you the .75"-1.25" drop you want.
although if you do want to go lower you can go H&R or even Eibach Sportlines but that might be too agressive of a drop.

^ .75 and the 1.25 if i drop it more then that for a bit of a more agressive look will it affect my suspension or rub? and i think someone quoted me S-tech springs for 350 is that a fair price ?

u cant go wrong with either one of these springs, its just a matter of how low u want to go

just to throw this out there on the topic of lowering... I have a '95 nissan 200sx and want to get it lowered after winter, approx. 1 to 2 inches... these springs and kits you guys are suggesting would also work for my stock setup?

.... oh and I guess my current tire size is just stock 195/55 R16, I'm planning on getting a nice set of wheels close to the same time I get the suspension modified.

if the car is 1995, u might as well look to see how bad ur shocks/struts are.

ur paying pretty much the same procedure, thus should cost about the same. so u might as well get the shocks/struts done at the same time.

its a different story if ur car is practically new.

I also agree with SG, for such an old vehicle i would suggest replacing both springs and shocks.

really any of the setups we mentioned will do the drop you want

choose the actual drop you want and then research some set ups.

prokits on your car might drop it 1.35" and on my car might drop 0.8" pretty big difference if you ask me.

Noob here. Im looking to lower my 07 civic si, I found a set of Tein s tech springs for a good price. The springs have 10k on them. Theres no way I can afford to buy coilovers yet, so springs will have to do for now. And im not looking to slam my car, Just want to eliminate some of the gappage between the wheel and fender.

Oh alright thank you. So I'm looking for a shock/spring combo?? My car is starting to squeak a little bit when I'm taking slow corners now... could this be the bushings??
