Interested in meeting other early evos in Vancouver. Also, I'm new to this...is there an Evo specific meet up? |

R. Mutt - I love your build man. And the custom license plate is like an icing on a cake. very nice looking evo. |
Thank you Josel. I think there are some other local evos that look much better...Kelvin of static captains and Brendan of Project Detail in particular. Eventually I'll get to that but I just keep it simple for now and focus on the performance. What plans do you have for your car? Have you taken it out to any events? (strip, autoX, HPDE) |

my 4 is doing good. i went to import face off in Seattle this year. i ran a 1/4 for the first time in that car. it did 13.5 which is not bad for a stock car. it could have been faster with a better launch and shifting. after that trip though my clutch started slipping. i will be throwing in a competition clutch and flywheel this coming weekend. it should handle more trips to the dragstrip and maybe autox next year. i have plans on this car but i wont start collecting parts by end of the year. im waiting for a thanks giving sale hahaha how about you? have you gone to any events yet? |
Not a fan of huge wings either but those cars see the track so I get it. Nice man. 13.5 is a good time for a stock evo given our gas and the age of the motor. Last year I did 12.7@108mph with 1.8 60ft when the car was pretty stock (cams, BBK and tune) and recently did 12.01@115mph 1.9 60ft....need to work on my launch as I'm losing too much traction and then I can hopefully break into high elevens. Car with me and half tank is 3420lbs. I've done autoX a bunch times but never hit a proper track. Last UBCSCC event I was in STX but they moved me to STU and I won my class despite not having coilovers or any camber in the front. Really want to get Ohlins road & track but they are expensive. I will stay on bilstein mr struts until I can afford them. I have my stock 9 metal diverter valve if you're interested. It will hold boost much better than the plastic one on the IV if you're still running it. Pm if your interested and we can work something cheap out. |
thanks. if mission is still open and my new clutch is broken in, i will go for another run sometime in October. i promised my girl i would take her there before end of the year. i hope to get used to launching the car. last time i slipped the clutch a little too much. then its time to collect parts and hopefully a tune before spring. im still stuck with the 4 ecu so i cant really do anything  evos are great for autox. even on stock form. congrats on winning your class i actually have a aps diverter valve sitting in the glove box. thanks for the offer though. i will pm you since i lost your number. |
Hey I was just scrolling through the threads and saw this post. R. Mutt I think I met you at autox when you approached my evo 6. I took your advice and ordered up a tactrix cable and all the parts to tune my car hope it works out well! Again It was nice meeting you! |
Hey! It was nice meeting you too. Glad you are moving forward with the cable as it's one of the best investments you can make in diagnosing and tuning your car. PM me if you need any help with the software when you get started. |
