all joking aside, it is a really depressing not only on Valentines day, but even the days following Valentines. Feels super stupid/awkward when your buddies tell you about his/her's Valentines.

I find it unfair that there are all these ideas for guys to do for their gals and things to buy for the girls but you rarely hear about what the girls should do for their man. Any ideas??

Oh, and in response to your post, every girl is different in terms of what she will like... It's pretty easy to get gifts for girls as almost anything that is beautiful, cute or pretty she will most likely love. Flowers are not a necessity, but if you really want to, you could combine the flowers with a small gift of some sort. I personally don't like flowers and stuffed animals so I told my boyfriend that I don't want them. You could try asking what she would like. I'm sure she should like whatever you put your heart and thought into though :) and I'd say it's more worthy to spend all out for an anniversary or birthday rather than Valentine's day which is a marketing scheme.

Flowers are nice but I would rather it be for a special occasion or "just cause" kinda thing rather then "because it's vday and it's expected" Any gift that shows thought is the best kind of gift...regardless of cost

girls buy stuff for guys too, don't they?
by the end of the day, the girl just appears in lingerie or whatever satisfies their man, and it's all gravy after that.

regardless though, it's such a double-standard... which is why i think it's best that both plan out their evening together, rather than the guy surprising the girl and all that shiznit.

V-day is about expressing your love to each other, not to just the girl.

make sure you don't end up like this guy

Spoiler!

silk 01-30-2009 12:01 PM

trip to whislter and hot tub outdoor and enjoy the scene

BTW>>> DONT BUY HER ANYTHING ..rather.. tell her a story
v day was invented by bunch of businessman in the early 20s, they pump up the price on everything to make money from the boyfreind who wants to satisfied the girlfreind. V day just a scam.. :)

Just tell your girlfreind this story, she will understand u ... if she really loves you
if she thinks you are bs, dump her !!! move on

my friend is takin his gf to a restaurant and planning to play the piano for her in public....(fken asshole..makin my planned plan look so bad)..anyways....sth happened between me n gf so...i guess i got nothin to wrry bout now :D

anyways...most girls that i've known look at the work you've put into to get the present...or w/e it is...so...IF you actually pay attention to what your gf says...then take her to some place that she likes or somthin n just chill.....OR...you can go to one of those DineOut restaurants...never been but....alot of my friends seemed to like it

TreeHugger 02-03-2009 01:17 AM

For a self proclaimed pimp... yeah. It honestly depends on what kind of girl she is. Whether she prefers materialistic things or just going out (simple things. Maybe it's just me, but I find flowers a pretty useless gift.

raygunpk 02-03-2009 02:19 AM

Celebrate a week later or earlier, that way prices are normal.

I totally agree! As much as I would like to celebrate love day one way or another I don't think it's up to my boyfriend to do something for me while I just sit back and enjoy. How's that fair!?

I love doing small, cute, romantic things for my man. It shows I still put forth effort, reminds him that I'm still working on us, keeping the spark, and showing my love for him.

The things I might do for him include: making from scratch some sort of meal he loves, making him a card, framing a picture, telling him I'll go to one of his "events" with him (one of those I don't really want to go, but I will go becuase I love him type of events... maybe like nutcracker at xmas for the boys...), take him to an action filled no love story movie, surprise him with a little road trip to wherever, buy him a small gift (something he always said he wanted), and lastly but certainly not least is something special behind closed doors. It really is the thought and the effort that counts.

As for flowers... I like them but on valentines it is a little cliche, not to mention that I know he's been ripped off. Buy them on just another day... it means more.

As for suggestions for the man anything of the above will do for her too!

We had our "Valentines dinner" in late January and took advantage of a Dine Out menu! :p

Gt-R R34 02-09-2009 02:12 PM
