Saw a commercial for this last night on tv... looks pretty decent, but I can see where the camry ripoff comes into play :P perhaps toyota was the only ones who got it right? |
i think its the color.. but it defintly looks like a camry |
Maybe Conan can get an update now |
had a couple of commercials on tv today, looks pretty good actually. |
great looking car, they said it'll be expensive - in the 40k USD range which is around 47-50 for us |
FYI I think they are going to be quite rare in BC. Each dealer will only get 1 or 2 of these, if that. |

for 47-50k, this is not going to cut it. But if it's to sell at 30-35k, i'd take a second look. |
Holy crap, $50,000?? No, thanks. |
thats an awesome car with an even better motor, but for 50k? NO DICE! |
That thing looks WAY better than a camry. |
imo it looks reall pudge...... |
twin turbo + direct injection V6! win win win!! price tag! lose lose lose! |
so specs-wise it's like a V6 Twin Turbo AWD family sedan? That's like......my 16 year old car. Great archievement Ford! Also people will soon bitch about the difficulties in servicing a V6TT in a horizontal layout. I mean it's a Ford you expect it to break down but at least make the repairs less painful imo. |
i was just re-reading the article in the april's C&D. The competition from The Pontiac G8 GXP is enormous. While the SHO with performance package will sit at around $54k CAD, while the G8 with all possible options and bigger engine, subsequently developing 410ish horsepower will sit at $42k CAD. Pontiac, is faster, better looking, cheaper, more fun to drive the whooly five hundred. I think Ford went nuts with this one. Not to mention the Charger R/T. This will probably attract the loyal SHO buyers, no one else. |
Another enormous gas guzzling road clogger. $50 grand for a Ford Taurus? LOL hey you guys, it's got TWO turbos! it's sporty! And it's got Selectshift MKS and SR1 parts on it, whatever that means! |

The big selling point for the Taurus has always been it's size. There are lots of people who prefer a large car, both for interior space, and for luggage space, and for safety. Small cars are much safer than they ever used to be, but at the end of the day, a larger car with more metal is still going to fair better against a large truck or tree, than a small car. Remember also, the demographics of vancouver - congested and tight, with a HUGE asian population. Phillipinos and Chinese, on average, are much smaller than the a-typical southern overweight American white trash that is so prevalant in some states. Remember that there are 300million american and 30million canadians. There are a LOT more fat americans in America than small asians in vancouver. Hence, the taurus. So, while it may not make much sense for the average Vancouverite (which is why most BC dealers don't stock many Tauruses) it DOES make sense for lots of other people who NEED THE SPACE. Don't trash talk a product just because it doesn't apply to you. |

saw some new pics... but its still not that outstanding the new fusion very nice car, the fiesta SWEET! this is just a bigger fusion.... |
it looks good and they have a good idea with this. I like companies which keep up their traditional limited edition alive, but at 55,000 loaded - this is a scam The pontiac is a bargain. I'm seriously considering one. |
if it's no longer powered by Yamaha, not cool anymore |
