Someone design a system where with a flip of a switch it shields the LED strips with an opaque cover. Or just wire them so when you park and open the door, they are basically puddle lights.

The shield thing would be OK as long as the shields were 100% effective and blocked all light.. but "puddle lights" are still "Unauthorized Lights"
