Recommend me a Laptop! Looking for a new laptop after my old one died. I have a budget under $700. Dont play any intense games, only dota once in awhile and mostly use it for Pr0n + websurfing. I've asked people for suggestions they told me not to get HP/compaq and acer. I have no take on this, so i need some suggestions. =P Suggest me something. Looking for a 15inch or so, not interested in those net books. |
Maybe an older/used IBM Thinkpad. They're built top notch. |
im all about Sony, my Vaio is the best computer i've ever owned |
^ Pron x 5hrs a day x 2yrs and still no break down? |

Both in that it's reliable and quite boring. |
acer seems fine for me. Used me pretty much 6+hours a day for 6 months and so far everyting still looks good. |

mine is used almost 10 hrs a day, the only thing died is the battery |
^ me too, mine is on all day long, getting use, on wireless connection, and nothing has changed since day one, it's about 1.5 years old at this point |
my SZ is actually close to 3 yrs old now... but its getting quite ugly due to wear and tear, keyboard wearing out, scratches everywhere... |
i suggest a thinkpad too. they are built with better quality, and feels better to the touch too. |

Usually slightly after 1 year, then it fails. |
go for a thinkpad or a dell |
dell+complete care warranty. end story. |

are you guys serious about the thinkpads? IBM is terrible... |
thinkpads are actually really good...but with your budget of 700$ you don't have much choice xcept for the laptops available at bestbuy/futureshop. They usually carry acer, HP...etc.....they're O kAY for your usage...just reformat to win XP and it'll b good to go. Another option is if you are willing to buy used then you have a wider availability. I believe my gf is selling a white hp laptop thats 15" for about 500$...dual core..3gb ram...and is for sure capable of dota and such. |
