Why do colder temperatures delay/prevent vomiting spells?

As thread title. I got food poisoning the other day and was reminded that whenever I get nauseous, I tend to seek out cold, and this tends to delay or prevent (with drunkenness anyways) the vomiting.

Does anyone know WHY this happens?

I know this may sound obvious Graeme but maybe fresh air help you.

Did you take anything for this?

It's not even fresh air, it's just being colder. Cold floors, cold water, cold cloths, etc etc.

No, I didn't 'cause it's just a case of food poisioning. System had to get it out, but things are muy better now.

I don't have a medical background but I'm going to go ahead and guess...

A) Abosorption
B) Circulation

Both of which are critical to the well being of your bodily functions.

Now, being the smart man that you are, I think you can deduce my implicit message.

You're right, I always feel better when im laying in front of my toilet on the cold floor...Fuckin alcohol.
