Good VW Bodyshop (search didn't give clear cut answers)

Planning to get my GTi touched up and some internal body work done...

Anyone know what bodyshop specialises in repairing VW's and do good on the body work as well as the paint job?

Went to AK before, they did do good on the paint job but they are not that great in putting the parts together, prolly because they havent repaired a GTi before...

I can recommend http://www.europeautocare.com/index.htm

They worked on my GTI and Passat and were really good with it. No complaints.

ask haulin oats... he works for westminster vw. he had some small custom work done on his gti and it seemed to look good to me... but i forgot to ask which bodyshop he went to :(

Unless you're looking to work on a Kharmman Ghia or a Type 3, any bodyshop will work for a VW. In fact, unless you're working on any sort of classic car that requires lots of custom or meticulous work, any bodyshop with a decent amount of positive feedback will be sufficient, whether it's a Kia or Mercedes that needs fixing.

probably even worse since the end of the snow season.

godwin 02-03-2009 12:28 AM

Burrard Autostrasse is good.. but like Korva.. they might not take your business.

not shitting on ur thread, rather raising a point:

How do we know if the above user does owns European Auto Care and is simply promoting it?

I saw a thread whileback, also relating to autobody , the mods shut it down because it was recomended by a user. Reason for lock was the " how do we know he's not advertising for free by recommending?"
.... Just wondering .....

whats a safeway to recommend things on RS these days?

Hope u find a good bodyshop!

hypediss 02-03-2009 01:24 PM

^ dont mind you raising that point cause I've been thinking about the same thing too...

godwin 02-03-2009 02:14 PM

Korva considers VW too pedestrian.

Not entirely true. I have seen some interesting things from a sponsor when they had to fix a certain make. So I still believe you should definitely do your research!

!SG 02-03-2009 05:29 PM

not so.

u forget, as admins, we have abilities to look up things like ips.

and well, when you see the ip of a certain member trying to "reconmend" a shop, when in fact, the ips match with the accounts from that shop, then u gotta question, am i that stupid to not see that as spam? or is that member giving a bj to someone at the shop while they post?

Just because i dont post up how we found out that member was simply a 2nd account from the shop used as a cheap way to spam RS doesnt mean that spammer is right.

wanna spam rs? no problem, BEI CHEEN AH!!! :D

Cosmos Autocare at Adanac and Clark...

They have done all the work on my GLI... they will be widening my rear fender-wells before the summer and also repainting all the little rock chips from the winter time... They do great work  I know they prepped a few cars for DTP last year for one of the performance shops...
