Early morning shooting in Coquitlam near Douglas College Man treated for gunshot wound and released from hospital Erin Loxam COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) | Saturday, February 7th, 2009 2:45 pm Bookmark COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) - One more day and another shooting for police to investigate. There have been five in the last six days. The latest happened early this morning in Coquitlam in the area of White Pine Place. Corporal Brenda Gresiuk tells us what we know so far. "It's very early in the investigation but our indications so far are that the two men met earlier in the night and the shooting was a result of an attempted robbery of the victim. We have reports of a 22 year old Port Moody resident, who was treated and released at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg." A 19 year old man, who is well known to police, is facing numerous charges. The shooting falls on the heels of yesterday's brazen daylight shooting in Langley. A man with gang connections was gunned down as he sat in his truck at the Thunderbird shopping mall. Police say more than one shooter took part in the violence that involved machine guns. 26 year old Kevin Leclaire remains in grave condition in hospital. |
