dual monitor simulating 2 computers

is there software out there that can do this? I want 2 sceens, 2 mice, 2 keyboards off one PC. with no interaction with each other. IE keyboard and mouse actions only effect the monitor infront of them. and each monitor with it's own start menu etc.

I think I've seen it, where each sceen is basicly loged in as a different windows user.

I'm not looking for ultramon etc. the monitors are not side by side and will be used by different users at once.

Sure its actually fairly easy "IF" and this is a big IF, you run any version of windows Server, I did it in 2000 and in 2003, Each user has there own login to the server and using something like remote desktop, they login and the one machine can act like 100 machines with 100 different remote users. You can find it on ebay or "other " online sources if ya know what I mean. The limitations are RAM and CPU power. 32bit Os's are limited to 4gig of ram. I recommend at least 256mb of ram for each user. (however back in the day, 10mb per user was considered acceptable.
Oh other thing, make sure the host machine has a really good internet connection. If you have a 1mb upstream cap and 10 peoples are on the machine, it will lag really bad for them.

i've never seen anything like that that does what you're after...

having 2 keyboards/mice plugged into ONE computer and using 2 screens. never seen it, doubt it exists

like someone else said, you can use terminal services, but you need a second machine. Could be a basic laptop/peice of crap desktop/etc...

as long as it has network access you can just rdc into the terminal services box and you get a desktop

Or as another suggests just run a vm on the box and rdc into that.

either way, it all requires a second machine
