Autopage Alarm - Unlocking both doors at once

So I have a new Tacoma that had keyless entry. Push the unlock button once to unlock the drivers door and a second time for the passenger door. I just got an Autopage alarm installed and it is set up the same way. Is there an easy'ish way to have it unlock both doors at once? I hate it when it doesnt catch the second button push and my GF is glaring at me in the rain through the locked door on her side.

push it multiple times as you are walking to your car, not at ur car.
its bound to pick up at least 2 of them. =P

I would stand there and LOL @ her.

Re-wire the output from the alarm to the door solenoids together... so it pulses both, not just one.

hmm, soundworks installed my alarm and im not sure what they did, but my compustar unlocks the drivers door first, then a second later, the rest unlock.

im guessing delay, or a relay?

I was hoping there was a way to reprogram the alarm settings myself, rather than rewire it or take it in.

Take it in and get them to reprogram to double pulse unlock. It will take them 2 minutes.

Not sure why they would hook it up that way unless you requested it. I normally hook up alarms/remote starters to unlock all doors at once unless told otherwise by customer.

hk20000 02-08-2009 09:27 PM

^ that's probably coz the system is hooked up to the factory remote system and 1 pulse = 1 door 2 pulses = all door.

Must be hooked up at the RKE module. It is negative single pulse for lock and unlock in most Toyota's including his Tacoma.

i have mine hooked up so that theres 2 pulses sent i think
it unlocks one door then half a sec later unlocks all doors, just like how it does it on my stock fob, except i dont have to press twice

Oh god no. If you guys have no idea what you're talking about please don't suggest to people bad ideas on how to ruin their own cars.

It's in the alarm manual, you can PROGRAM driver priority doorlocks.

Ignore the other fools that told you to rewire your factory doorlocks!

The manual that came with the alarm is like 3 pages long and doesnt help with anything. I was hoping someone knew how to reprogram it themselves.

!SG 02-10-2009 08:06 AM

most alarms come with 2 manuals.

an instruction manual for using the alarm, and an install manual for installing the alarm.

haha in my case, they took my install manual away knowing id probably tinker around with the alarm and screw it up! :lol

This fool was thinking he should re-wire the alarm, not the factory wiring... but I digress.

:p

Still don't need to re-wire. Most newer alarms nowadays have a programmable feature to turn on/off driver priority locks. Or double pulse the signal. Depending on the vehicle of course. :)

Certain cars often do require rewiring so you're not that far off, but not specifically a Tacoma. Hope I didn't sound too harsh. :D
