Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD questions

Thoughts about this deck? Fairly priced and double din, so it'll fit in my car. However, here's a picture of it in the same model car I have.

1) It looks like there is a bit of gap between the deck and the dash. Is there supposed to be something there?

2) Has anyone tried colour matching the trim of the deck to match the colour of their car's dash? The black trim of the deck and the grey colour of the dash bugs me a bit.

1) Thats a pretty good fit in there. Double Din ISO mount is as good as the fit gets unless you do some custom fabbing.

2) The deck comes in black only. The outside edge could be painted to match the rest of the dash but you will lose the printed info on the edge of the screen. I don't think it'd be worth it.

The AVH-P4000 is an 'ok' deck. It only has 2 volt pre-outs and the user interface is a little weak. you better have fingernails or tiny fingers to operate this screen. Also, the display reminds me of Tron circa 1982.

I thought the P4000 has 4V preouts?

Sorry to hi-jack this thread Volvoman. How does the newer P3100 compare to the P4000? I'm looking into the P4000 but not sure if I should wait for the P3100.

personally, i think that fitted really well
however the 4000dvd doesnt have a tilting screen function but in this particular car it looks like its at a comfortable eye level. and ya, only back colour sorry buddy :(
