but im surprised with krispy kreme. comfort foods tend to do ok during recession. its relatively a cheap treat. guess they just gonna have to fill less jelly and make bigger holes...

blockbuster, not surprised. everyone downloads movies these days. and ppl go catch it at the movie theater for the entertainment value. price of going to see a movie went down, remember how expensive it was at one point?

colossus in langley actually went up, i forgot when it happened tho. from $10.95 to $11.50, i remeber when it was actually cheaper..

Synaptik 02-09-2009 07:49 PM

thats another excuse for me to download movies. these marketing guys don't understand supply and demand.

JSALES 02-09-2009 08:02 PM

Blockbuster will be gone in 5-10 years regardless of the economy.

ya.. i think soo too..

there's this blockbuster near my house, and it has very less business...

I wonder how it can keep paying the land rent...

Not surprised to see some Casinos get affected. :) That means there's more promotions for cheap rooms in Vegas!!!

I'm surprised KK lasted this long. Their business model of franchising is terrible. Timmy Ho's is kicking their ass in the North East(US).

Aetios 02-10-2009 01:58 AM

^Its already happening. There are some really good package deals for Vegas right now.

Synaptik 02-10-2009 02:44 PM

my friend got 400 bucks week package at caesars palace.

I am surprise AMD is not on the list, but then I could see how Intel would try to keep its one and only competitor alive

Synaptik 02-10-2009 02:54 PM

AMD isn't going to disappear. The most likely thing would be getting acquired by a private company.

sorry all you Sirius lovers, they are going out of business as we speak

And since I haven't heard of most of the other companies, meh.

Krispy Kreme came as a surprise? I'm surprised they haven't got bankrupt yet. Wasn't there a thread a few months back saying Krispy Kreme will close most of their stores by 09?

It'll be sad to see Six Flags shut down though.

JSALES 02-10-2009 06:59 PM

i better make a trip to krispy kreme before they close down

LemonH2O 02-10-2009 07:03 PM

everytime we drive by KK on scott roadan its totally dead, all hours of the day

JSALES 02-10-2009 07:16 PM

^ should've chosen a better location

Presto 02-10-2009 07:23 PM

^^^

It was a fad. Now that it's over. People are back at Timmy's.

JSALES 02-10-2009 07:25 PM

^ yeah i guess, my cousin in cali said the same thing when krispy kreme opened. it was so big before but barely anyone goes anymore
