Which CPU is faster ?? May I know how much faster when Pentium M 1.2Ghz CPU compares with 1.6GHZ Intel Atom N270 processor |
Clock for clock they should be equivalent, but the atom should edge ahead in multi-threaded tasks due to hyperthreading. The atom would draw less electricity as well. |
thanks for your prompt reply and I am still thinking about whether I get a used but like new fujitsu Lifebook P7010 laptop with Pentium M 1.2Ghz CPU with 1GB RAM with 60GB HDD with DVD burner rather than getting a new ASUS EEE 904ah netbook with 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD? Which one would you recommend me to get ? |
What's your primary use? Surfing the web? watching movies? School/office work? The Atom should have better power consumption. My friend's EEE1000 with a 6-cell battery can get like 6-8hrs on a single charge PS: If it's watching movies, - Intel just released the new Atom N280 which features onboard hardware 720p decoding. The EEE 1000HE will be first out with the N280. - Nvidia's ION platform is coming out with an Atom paired with a Geforce 9400M, for 1080p playback. I hope these "netbooks" are coming with a HDMI-out...because I really don't see the need for 1080p on a 10" screen. |
