Anyone catch Letterman last night?

What was up with Joaquin Phoenix? He's going to quit acting and start a hip hop career?

I logged on to yahoo.com and they had clips and the story about the odd interview.

For more info read this:

He was fucked up on something, and Dave made him look like a tool.... Well more of a tool than he already looked like coming out in that condition

i thought for sure he was on something at first, but after about a minute you could tell it was definitly all an act. i dont think letterman was in on it either. i think you can see him telling dave right before they cut to commercial.

He was in character probably for a an upcomming role. If anyone thinks thats the way he is normally they'd be the ones on crack.

Here's a fun speculation I found on the rumour mill:

It's a mockumentary of the recent trend of rappers transitioning to acting and therefore taking light of the craft. The purpose is a documented effort to make light of the craft of rapping by transitioning into rap on an actor's whim.

I doubt it this is true but just thought the idea was hella funny. In any case, I don't care what the true intention is, or whether this is serious or just a farce, but I like wherever the hell this is going. Whatever the ending may be, I want to be there for it. :D
