how do you bypass INTERNET SECURITY AT WORK?

I want to run my thunderbird email at work off my usb, but they've locked out ports to prevent things like this. how can i sniff out the ports or bypass this and also use utorrent at work?

Uh... if they've restricted access for certain ports, you gotta hack into your company's firewall to change the policies. Good luck with that.

But unless someone knows exactly what kind of security is implemented for your company's network, nobody's going to be able to give you a proper answer.

You're probably better off trying to setup a remote connection to your home computer.

I think someone has mentioned it before, but perhaps something like LogMeIn that gives you remote control capability of your PC at home. Probably the safest bet for both yourself and your company.

Otherwise, try use a proxy server for your browsing needs. I personally wouldn't torrent at work...but that's just me. There's a reason why they locked it down (to prevent non business related internet traffic) and trying to bypass it to run high bandwidth apps like torrents is just going to get you into trouble.

I've had a few instances where workers "accidentally" had their torrents running on their laptops while at work, and the problem with our Shaw connection was if the upload bandwidth is saturated, the entire connection goes to the shitter... so everyone else in the office would have problems retrieving email or even loading up web pages.

Fortunately I had a means of figuring out which machine was causing all the traffic, so I just gave them a slap on the wrist.

why run the risk of being fired.. ?? lol.. even if you hack there ports open, if they monitor the server once in a while they will notice you ass and block you ip or some how possible find out its YOU pulling some haxing shit on them lol... i doubt they will let you off easy.... Trust me man it literally took about 10minutes for my schools network bastards to find out im playing on PokerStars.. they cut me off for the day and then blocked my access to pokerstars on their network ..
