Flexible LED strips, Where can i get them: Cheapest, Closest?

So, i want these: http://www.oznium.com/product_photos/large/2448.jpg (or something like them)
In red, different sizes, and at a good price, id prefer something i can pick up in a store but i would do online buying if i have to.(and used/ some burnt out are welcome. Please help, thank you.

EDIT: need about 10ft

installerz 02-14-2009 06:19 AM

We have something like that, but a lot brighter and a longer life span. $35.00 per half meter is what we sell them for. We have red, white and blue in stock. How many would you like?

Mr Colt 02-14-2009 04:03 PM

thanks but, i need quite a few feet, i sadly would prefer an inferior product to save the money due to the amount i need around 18-20ft worth, roughly.

Any other options?

The stuff Installerz is talking about is well worth the money. I am sure we could work out a deal if you buy quantities. I used a ton of it in my showcar and people couldn't stop talking about it!

Sorry I don't have a suggestion for you but I'm intrigued, what are you building? :)

Mr Colt 02-15-2009 02:13 PM

a deal would be good, and thats a very nice set up you have, what i am doing is under lighting parts of my bike as shown here: http://www.bcsportbikes.com/forum/at...1&d=1214809780
and no im not going to let it look tacky when im done, every bit of light will be hidden only leaving the outer glowing effect show off.

EDIT EDIT: I did some rough measurements i need:
roughly 10" total

orgasm_donor 02-15-2009 09:56 PM

Ooooh...that sounds pretty sweet. You will need about 10 strips of it. You can cut the strips down too every third LED and customize it that way. Its very flexible and extremely bright as Installerz said. I have a project lined up with a nice bike in March so it looks like we'll be doing a few of them for DTP hopefully.

Mr Colt 02-15-2009 10:44 PM

to save coast i figured why not just use a couple bright light bulbs, same effect just much cheaper. and im down to 10ft, hope your install goes as well as mine, would you know where i could get a small controller for them to make them do an auto fader effect(dim from high to low and back up) ?

orgasm_donor 02-15-2009 10:51 PM

I think you can get a dimmer (regulator) and dim them with that. I will look into it.

Mr Colt 02-17-2009 09:23 PM

so did you find out about some sorta of pattern controler? i want it to fade in and out like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzngQIpnMpw

catalin 02-18-2009 04:02 PM

I've never tried myself but how about using this Varad controller??

Mr Colt 02-18-2009 07:35 PM

interesting find and thank you for looking but, no real description for it , it could be a loss of $50+ if it dost do what i want it to.

catalin 02-18-2009 11:32 PM

I believe that controller is designed to do what you want but with Varads LED's. Shouldn't be too much of a different set-up and I would think that's a possibility that it would work.
I was directing the question to Orgasm Donor really, I'm sure he's worked with the Varad line before..

I have worked with Varad but ever since we got MicraLED in, Varad is kind of...well, extremely low end. And the Varad pricing is more than MicraLED too.

But the controller I was looking at is made by a different company. Still no word on it.

well its almost 4 am, and guess what, the bike has lights hehe, but no effects yet, still it looks hawt. ill post pics tomorrow if i remember.
