WTF is this?

So I was at the beach in White Rock with my wife tonight, and was taking some shots for my photography class... And just as the sunset was going down, this guy that was watching it pointed out to us this white dot in the sky. It wasn't giving out any light, it was just a white circular object.

Any ideas?

cloud....weather baloon.....ufo???

no clue =x but those would be my guesses.

niforpix 02-15-2009 11:07 PM

Hmm... definately not a cloud. It wasn't moving at all.

TOPEC 02-16-2009 12:07 AM

do u only see it in ur pics? or did u see it with ur own eyes.
if u only see it in the pic then it's probably dust inside the lens.

phatpower 02-16-2009 12:10 AM

could be anything..

I would have to but my money on the weather balloon...

Great pic

Maybe you should read the second sentence of the original post...?

I wonder if it could be the contrails of a jet flying away from you?

As I said, this other person that was watching the sunset pointed out the white object to us. So then I took a shot of it.

Senna, that's an idea... but I didn't see any jets flying away, and the object stayed the same size. We were probably starring at it for good 10, 15 minutes.

I wish I had my 500mm with me at the time and my big tripod. :(

B4N M3 02-16-2009 08:03 AM

it looks like a chunk of cloud to me...

niforpix 02-16-2009 08:09 AM

There were no other clouds in the sky at sunset that's why it's kind of weird. That's what I thought at first too. Still not sure.

Rikaro 02-16-2009 08:44 AM

it doesn't matter because it's ruining your image. Clone it out lol

syee 02-16-2009 09:15 AM

Maybe bits of satellite? :D

OK, only guessing, but somehow I don't think that's it, since you said it was stationary.

keitaro 02-16-2009 10:28 AM

hot air balloon maybe?

niforpix 02-16-2009 05:15 PM

I guess we'll never know :p

B4N M3 02-16-2009 05:43 PM

I'VE GOT IT!!!!

It's the pig that escaped while Pink Floyd was trying to shoot the cover for their album called "Animals"

http://sparebricks.fika.org/sbzine15/images/animals.jpg

they had to settle for a drawing, since their pig (made by the famous Zeppelin company) disappeared into the upper atmosphere before any decent shots were taken

niforpix 03-04-2009 06:25 AM

^^ lol awesome!

Senna4ever 03-04-2009 10:37 AM

LMFAO :lol

White rock is actually pretty well known for UFO sightings.

Send it to Scully
