It's just a misunderstanding of legal jargon. Big todo about nothing.

Culture_Vulture 02-18-2009 03:57 AM

I don't see what the big commotion is all about,
it's not like anybody's forcing anybody to share anything.
The only people I see complaining are the ones with ten thousand pictures on Facebook and a personal profile a page and a half long.

I guess you just read the article, and not the thread, eh.

Facebook went back to their old terms of use. When I logged in today there was a note from Facebizzle saying due to uproar over the amendments of the terms of use they are returning to the old terms of use until they get it sorted out. Then they directed you to a facebook blog to post on if you had any suggestions. Seems the public outcry got heard!!

Berz out.

Hondaracer 02-18-2009 06:49 AM

I deleted all my shit long ago

WTF did ppl think happened anyways? When u upload 200 pics to your page wether they track them or not they are all cached somewhere...

Idiot.

facebook is ok but I hate the people that have to update their shit every minute like everyone cares to know what they're doing. Internet whoring at its best. Like someone said above, its all about what you choose to share to the world.

Oops, I made a grammatical error at 12:30am, sorry I was tired. I'd say you're pretty fucking retarded if you can't understand my post due to a mix up of two letters (Affect, thEn). Sorry to hear that your basic comprehension skills suck balls.
:2finger:

Soundy 02-18-2009 08:04 AM

If I didn't understand it, I wouldn't have caught the irony in it. Idiot.

Your understanding of the topic has brought so much useful criticism and incite to the topic, even though you can't see past the basic use of FB, it really helps the discussion move forward.

Seeing as I haven't even commented on the topic at hand, how do you assess my understanding of it?

And BTW, the word you're looking for there is "insight". It's not 12:30am anymore, so what's your excuse this time?

Idiot.

+1

I remember when you needed a university/college e-mail to sign up. Facebook was wicked back then. Now... I only use it for keeping track of events or to send someone a PM.

Did you try to correct the above? If so, it's still wrong... :p

What if a photographer puts some new pictures up?

Starting a new business with a friend, or friends, and sharing information/discussing new ideas via PM? Or how about sharing new templates, logos, or new business ideas?

FB now has the ability to take that information, song, piece of art and do whatever the fuck they want with it, whether it's using (stealing) the business idea, selling the rights to the song, or sell the photo/digital image to some random magazine.

In the end it's still that person's OWN decision to put it up on FB...or anywhere on the internet. Once it's out there....it's all fair game.
Why can't you burn a disc and give it to your friend? Share it with a USB drive? Or even Floppy Disc if you're old school...

Putting it up on internet and then whinning about other people stealing it is just plain stupid.

Putting it on the internet it one thing, sharing it with a private network of friends is a little different.

But in this case, your "private network of friends" is on a series of machines that you don't own.
