Motherboards I need a damn new motherboard, but I don't know much about the brand and quality out there. All I know is that I need a motherboard that has 775 slot/microATX/supports 5GB of ram & Intel Q6600. Budget will be up to $150. |
why 5gb ram? anything past 4 is useless just go with something like asus p5e-vm |
Cause I have 5GB of ram to use =P I was looking at this one: http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...nufacture=ASUS Any good? |
I'm partial to Gigabyte as I always seem to run into minor issues with Asus boards that I never run into with Gigabyte boards. |
ya gigabyte are quite good in terms of price/performance ratio but their mobo's are butt ugly with all their bright/tacky colors. |
I'll say Gigabyte too since I'm using one right now and no problems at all, had for almost 1 year already. |
Any particular model? |
This a cheap bottom of the line one. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...e&promoid=1003 There are other ones ones with more features if you want them. |

Whats your comp budget? |
^ Hmm.. I'm not planning to build a computer as of now. Just upgrading my damn Acer M5620. But, I might consider building my own pc if I know how much I could sell my pc for. Acer Aspire m5620 nVidia 8600GT 500GB HD 3x1GB 1x2 GB RAM DVD-writer Main reason why I want another mobo is because I wanna install OSX and dual boot it on my PC. Can't afford a damn Mac cause they're expensive. |
Would suggest either Asus P5Q-Pro Gigabyte EP45 UD3P or UD3R |
Non of those will be able to fit in my case.. I need an mATX. |
May I ask which case you're using? |
An Acer Aspire m5620. -_-" But like I said a few posts back, if I can sell my pc for the right amount of money for a custom built pc +&150 which I am planning to spend on a mobo. I wouldn't mind doing so. |
custom case is the way to go. generic ones always cause problems and are really limited |
Darn. |
whats the point in upgrading your MB? |
