SR20Det dreams.

Hey guys, I've been browsing the web for a few days now with about 4000 saved up for ordering and swapping an SR20, finally.
Best price, delivered, so far is a blacktop for $2630, with ecu and wiring harness delivered to Victoria (my home city).
Anyone that has already been through this process with great results wanna help me out and drop a link?
Appreciate it,

Are you looking for links on how to install the SR or what?

Rent a truck, and get one in Vancouver for 1500.

I got my SR for 1400. Redtop, HKS gt2530, Denso 550cc injecotrs etc. $1200 cash, 1400 taxes in.

Were from?

The lowest price I've seen in vancouver was from JK japanese for $1800. From everyone who has delt with them they say there engines are 50/50 you'll get a crapshoot or a slightly working one.

This is were I would get one from: http://www.jdmsource.ca/v2/

Lots of good feedback
shipping was about $250 without insurance when they quoted me.

shop locally

Buy a cheap one yet decent, make sure it's in working condition but rebuild everything, throw in stronger rods, pistons, and valvetrain. Better for performance, and in the long run anyways.

You don't need shot peened rods, forged pistons or anything insane unless the OP is planning to make some serious mad power exceeding the strength of what the stock internals can do. Those are just proponents to allowing you for higher than normal performance and stock internals are just fine even in the long run anyways.

Specifically?

Only place in victoria I know of that can get them in is $$$$$$$$ and they said about 2500 for just a redtop (no install or anything)

Stock SR internals do 400 easy. Only problem past 350 is the lifters. Change them to solid lifters, and you're golden till 450. Then you start to push it.

Pay cash.

Well we do stand behind our products. That can be a big difference if you get a motor that turns out to be a dud. And that works out pretty close to JDM source's price, once you factor in shipping, and the dollar conversion.
