Removing wax with buffer

Hey guys,

I am fairly new to this forum thought id introduce my self. As you can see I love bmws lol! Nice to meet you all.

I was wondering if anyone knows the benifit of using an orbital to remove wax as opposed to removing by hand? Does it make a difference or just a time saver?

I'd say a time and energy saver

deeper shine and time.

Orbital is okay for beginners, so start there. Rotary buffers normally require some skill, more speed, more chances you will burn through the clear which isnt good!

Just make sure you buy decent pads for your orbital, and take your time. I have an orbital and made my truck come out looking like glass!!!

Steps:

Wash, Dry.

Use a wax remover with proper pads.

Wash it really well, and dry it, like bone dry, no dripping. Then, if needed, apply a swirl remover in shade or garage( I used meguiars swirl remover) to remove minor swirls and scratches. Apply in small sections, and buff off by hand.

Then HAND apply new wax in the shade or garage. Wait till it drys then use a wax-removal-pad to take the wax of, THEN hand polish.

Thats how I do it...if anyone wants to comment do so. :)

My truck was a 05 Blazer, and the paint was mint...I never had a issue with road grime...

But yeah, you could clay bar as well

A brand new car will benefit from a claybar.

Ya i agree, always a benifit to add in a claybar

+1 for claybar! You'd be surprised how much gunk will come off a supposedly "mint" car!
