oem integration

So I'm new at this. I finally own a vehicle that doesn't have a din slot and no dash kit is available or will ever be made.

I know Audiocontrol makes the LC6 LC8 etc I think most good companys have something similar, but does I need it?

to start with, the car is a 2010 genesis coupe. I'm pretty happy with the stock stereo but it needs a sub. I have a set of focal 165V2s sitting around, but I don't think I'm going to run them. (if anyone thinks this is a bad idea let me know)

at any rate, I want to run my sub. it's a polk audio 10" in a ported box (that hopefully fits) and I want to put 500 rms into it. I don't have any amp yet, just the sub, box and wiring.

I don't think the car is amplified, even though it sounds like it is. Do I need a fancy oem integration processor like an LC6 or do I have other options?

Hoping to hear from shop guys that have dealt with new cars like this before.

Well, first of all I can pretty much bet that it'll be an amplified system. Luckily though its most likely 4 ohm as Clarion (now owned by Hyundai) rarely makes anything other than 4 ohm systems. Integration? No problem dude. There are other products out there like the LC6, Cleansweep and RE-Q. You don't need to spend a mint to get a product like this but you really should use something that will 'flatten' out the auto EQ feature that your new deck will probably have.

Of course very little is known about the car let-alone the stereo system so as soon as you get it, swing down to our shop and we'll take a closer look at it. :)

I took a look at one today. They're nice! I hate the location of the window switches though. Ugh.

Other than that, it's pretty pimp.
