Dog leash Question

What type of dog leash do you guys have?

I want to get a Flexi retractable leash for my puppy ( my dog will be 55lb at full size according to the books).

What type of Flexi leash should I get? there are 3 types: Cord, Belt, and Tape. Which one is stronger or whats the advantage of certain type?

I'm not really a fan of retractable leashes but thats a personal preference. If you want a leash that will last and is stupid strong check out canine equipment. My staffie uses his like a chew toy, he tugs on it like a rope when we play tug a war and it's still going strong. It's the one and only leash I've ever bought, same one for over 6 years.

There made out of the same material that mountain climbing gear is, built to last.

Retractable leashes can be useful for training puppies, especially at parks where you want them to learn to come back when you call. Other then that though I would not suggest Walking a puppy on a retractable. Really for the type it depends on what you like.
The tape is nice as it doesn't burn through skin as much. Unfortunately if the tape ones get dirty inside they will stick and bind the spring, the cords don't do this.
I've never seen belt style so I can't help you there. I would recommend the 'Flexi' brand. They last longer then any others.

dogs too big for one of them. tried it before with Hemingway (previous dog that passed away). it was fun cuz it felt like i was fishing... that was until he pulled so hard when playing, it broke.

my dog has a matching colar and leash from harley davidson. sis bought it from some HK harley davidson store. the color is more or less for hanging his tags. when we go for walks, the plastic choker comes out.

I have " Sensi-ble" dog harness, this stops dogs from pulling , so I dont think there will be issues of retractable being too weak for my dog. They sell 44lb, 77lb, 120lb size leash. So I guess i will have to get a higher grade one since my dog is 37lb and will potentially get to 55lb.

So far people like " Flexi" brand, i guess i wil give it a try. Just not so sure about which type of it " belt, cord, or tape". And the packages in store is sealed, I dont want to break open, it is not ethical

The effectiveness of most harness, head harness, and any other 'stop pulling' devices decreases with use of a flexi.

If you are going to be very careful with the flexi and not let the leash part drag on the ground or lay it on the ground then the tape is nice as if you grab the leash part it won't give you the burning rope burn.
If you think you might be in scenarios where the leash part might be dragging or sitting on the ground don't bother with the tape one, get the cord just remember not to grab at it if it's moving out or in quickly.
Other then 'Flexi' brand, the only other brand I would recommend planet dogs new retractable leashes.
Buy the retractable leash that fits your dog when they are grown up.
