7 days on, 10 hrs per shift? that's longer hours than working as a cop.

It's about the same.

Cops work 4 days on/off 10-12 shifts
In one month they get about 16-19 shifts (using 31 days calender)

We get 7 days on/off.
Works out to be around 14-17 (again using the 31 day calender). We work a longer period of time but also get a longer period of break. You can also come in on your days off and bank on some overtime.

A good thing about this job is the rotation. It's very stable. Your off one week and your on the next week. It's also the same shift pattern. You don't do 3 overnights and 4 days. You do 7 days same shift work.

Thanks!

How many calls do you normally take per shift?

To be honest I couldn't get into details with you. You would have to ask a representative with human resources but it depends on what time you work.
We also have other stations in Canada assisting with calls.

Our office is located near Granville Station. We do have free parking but space is limited and some spots are off site.
