USPS Tracking online sucks? Help I ordered something on feb 21st (saturday) off ebay and the guy emailed me saying he shipped the item on the following monday (the 23rd) via USPS First Class Mail International. He gave me the tracking number and I checked it on that tuesday and the usps website said they are aware of a package coming but have no received it. I thought that was weird since the guy said he shipped it already. I check now (8 business days later) it says that USPS has no record of that tracking number. 66A577324D057514D I emailed the guy last week and he said that the USPS website for tracking doesn't work very well but it just seems weird. I know that First Class Int'l is probably going to be about 10 days but I am starting to get worried. Especially since the website has absolutely no info for me. Does USPS not scan their packages at each depot like UPS and others do? edit: the package is coming from Minnesota so it's not too far away. Anyone have a ballpark time frame? |
USPS is known to suck ass. Work with your seller and ask if he has the shipping receipt. It could also mean that he didnt ship it at all. |
He is a powerseller I guess you could say. Out of roughly 1300 items he sold in the last 12 months he only has 2 negs so far. I am probably just over reacting but I have just never had an instance where the tracking number didn't give me any info on a package. I will email him and ask for the receipt. |
I don't think thats a tracking number, a tracking number from the US to Canada should be be like AA000 000 000US. I don't think First class mail has tracking (I could be wrong). For first class mail, in my experience, takes 3-4 weeks. I just had a Priority Mail package sent to me and the tracking still says Electronic shipping info received and I already have the package with me already. It was shipped on the 20th and I received it yesterday, from New York. |
I've had that happen to me several times. The package will show up before anything even registers on the USPS tracking site, it's pretty dumb |
3-4 weeks? Gayyy. Ok thanks for all the help guys |
happened to me too, bought a pair of sunglasses online and all their tracking info says is package accepted |
Yeah, USPS's tracking system is next to useless. Tracking doesn't help the seller either. I've received items in the past and USPS tracking never updated the item as 'received/delivered'. Maybe they did eventually but I stopped checking after a week. Typical USPS shipping time for me is about 2-3 weeks. At worst it was a month but it only happened once. I forgot if it was First Class International Mail or Priority International though. |
did u know that u can track USPS packages thru CanadaPost.ca also, give it a try. |
USPS is awesome, i track their stuff using canadapost, and i never had a problem. EMS is pretty good too, I think the only people I have problems with are like UPS or FedEX. Brokerage fuckers. |
That doesnt look like a tracking number... Get the real tracking number and go to canadapost.ca to track it liek sf666 said. |
yup canadapost works for usps tracking #'s |
Why isn't canada post letting me track mine, someone try it: LC009327455US |
