cheesecake factor is not bad. the fact it was a chain restaurant, nice warm bread, and huge portion. keep in mind we are in USA and not skinny canada. their Luan salad is probably the best salad i've ever had (this is coming from a guy that doesn't eat salad)

pretty decent pub food

I agree, the food isn't too bad there. I had a company christmas party there years ago when I still worked in Bellevue.

Of the chain restaurants around Seattle, I'd have to rank them in the following:

1. Olive Garden
2. Cheesecake Factory
3. Red Lobster

There are plenty of other restaurants to try, but of the chains these aren't bad.

how far are the sandwich place and the crab pot place? are they all in seattle downtown???

olive garden is ok. its like a decent pasta chain restaurant.

cheesecake factory has good godiva chocolate cheesecake

red lobster was a huge disappointment. their shrimp tastes funny.

Baguette Box has two locations (http://www.baguettebox.com/) - they're not exactly in downtown, but they're not far and both locations are in really cool neighbourhoods that are ripe for exploring to walk off your meal

For dinner, I'm a huge fan of Serious Pie in downtown (http://www.tomdouglas.com/restaurants/serious-pie) - best pizza crust I've ever had

I was also recently at Quinn's Pub (http://quinnspubseattle.com/) in Capitol Hill - it's a gastropub that has a decently sized menu for different appetites - great great food all around

Matt's in the Market in Pike Place (http://www.mattsinthemarket.com/) is also very well-known for both the location and food. Get a seat upstairs and enjoy one of the best views in town with your lunch

stay the f*ck away from Cheesecake Factory...

Quite close to the Pike Market is a place called Cafe Campagne (they have another restaurant upstairs called Campagne). Its a great French brasseries that I always love going to in Seattle.

In an earlier post, you said it was decent and that you could easily name 5 establishments in Vancouver that are worse, yet, now you say you don't think it's good but don't think it's gross either?

Make up your fucking mind already.

I know its not top tier dining. But I actually think Cheesecake Factory is fucking awesome for the price!
Do not flame me until your stomach has voiced his/her opinion please.

That's what DECENT means, between GOOD and GROSS. Learn to read!
