Home Remodeling Incentives via Government? My parents are planning to replace the roof and I heard on the news(a few months ago) that the government has some incentives for people remodeling their homes or something? Sort of like a way to encourage Canadians to spend money etc etc Does anyone have any more information on it or have a link to all the details for it? TIA! |

I hope this helps industry out big time cause its real slow right now and the low end contractors are pricing the high end guys right out of the high end projects :( |
wow didn't know about that thanks quasi |
Here's a little more info from Revenue Canada's website http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/gncy/bdgt/2...rnvtn-eng.html |
I looked through all 3 sites and I called "Service Canada" at 1-800 O-Canada (1-800-622-6232) So apparently, the bill has NOT been passed yet? WTF lol Has anyone got more information? The guy said everything is still a bit "gray" but the bill WILL pass most likely, in a matter of weeks not months. So you're free to do renovations now cause the bill would most likely pass and you just deduct it off your 2009 tax. However, roofing is not included as of now. Not really sure why =/ but I hope they include it when the final bill is released. |
the most deductable amount would be 1350. Just go to homedepot and ppl there will tell u more in detail. |
