Always make a spare key.

Or this happens.
And you're 3 hours late for work cause you're waiting for the fucking tow truck to bring your car to a friends shop to get a key cut from code.
So instead of being at work and getting bitched at, I'm chilling on my new desk posting on RS

Shit is retarded.
It's gonna take at least another hour AFTER I finally get there.

I also found out how to break into my own car. Not just the door.
I managed to get it started, but wheel lock was another thing. I didn't wanna cut it cause I wanted to sell it.
Fuck.

No pics of ignition cause 240s will be stolen.

shitty, i only have 1 key for my car...i think i might just go get another cut today hah

thumper 03-12-2009 09:48 AM

i hope the other half isn't stuck inside your ignition or door lock :(

jing 03-12-2009 10:33 AM

Dealers just need your VIN and proof of ownership to cut a key for you. I don't think the car actually has to physically be there...

... unless the key is chipped for immobilizer (can't see what brand it is on pic)

Raid3n 03-12-2009 11:19 AM

it's a 240, i honestly doubt the key is chipped.

depends if your car has an immobilizer. i had to bring my car in before to cut and program the key.

Marco911 03-12-2009 06:56 PM

Have you ever been diagnosed as ADHD?

SpuGen 03-12-2009 09:04 PM

No immobilizer.

I couldn't get it out for like an hour cause it broke in 3 places haha :(
Got one piece out, then the other pieces were wayyyyy in there.

Had it pulled out, new keys were cut from code, and now it turns like OEM.

Didn't get to work till 1, and to make up for time lost, I have to work Sunday now. Fuck.

Nvasion 03-12-2009 09:22 PM

lol this reminds me.. i left my spare in my car for quite sometime now.. guess ill take it out now

What_the? 03-12-2009 09:56 PM

holy shit, same thing happened to me, but in the door of my building...

my freaking key snapped off too

SkunkWorks 03-12-2009 11:26 PM

Speaking of keys, locked them in my car today.

Fucking Compustar automatically locks your door as soon as you get out. Just as I reached the handle for the rear passenger door, I hear, *click*

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKK.

I had a spare at home though so besides waiting in the cold for a bit, it was good. Always make a spare key folks!

saiko 03-13-2009 11:15 AM

SpuGen, so you got the key cut with the code in the passenger door lock cylinder at the dealership?

you 03-13-2009 02:47 PM

Vansterdam 03-13-2009 02:50 PM

a buddy of buddy of mines key broke in the ignition as well, supras been parked for like a week outside his house lol

SpuGen 03-13-2009 05:14 PM

Yup.
Well, it's somewhere else, but if I say where then cars are gonna get stolen.

PM me.

Break into the Supra, and take out a lock. Bring it to a locksmith.
I went with Westcoast Mobile only because they were right beside Taiyo and it's close to my house.

Volvo-brickster 03-13-2009 05:54 PM

JB weld + a paper clip to fish out the broken pieces? lol
