Some of those multi billionaires drive some POS cars. :lol

One of the Walton sons (walmart), drives a 2000 Acura Integra to work everyday; I read in Forbes last year.

This is from 2007...

http://autos.aol.com/article/luxury/...09160609990001

Billionaire Warren Buffett, the second richest person in the world, according to the 2007 Forbes list of the wealthiest people, and among our roster of five frugal billionaires, recently traded in a 6-year-old Lincoln Town Car for a 2006 Cadillac DTS.

One example is Jim Walton, heir to the fortune his father Sam Walton created through Wal-Mart. He drives a 15-year-old Dodge Dakota pickup and is No. 23 on this year's billionaires list. Jim and his billionaire sister Alice, who also drives a pickup -- a 2006 Ford F-150 -- had a notoriously frugal and conservative father who must have instilled similar values in his children.

For example, Ingvar Kamprad, Ikea founder, built his massive wealth from selling low-price Swedish furniture and home goods. He drives a Volvo that's nearly 15 years old.

Generally people who came from nothing (Buffett, among the others [non-entertainers]) don't indulge in crazy splurging because they make their wealth work for them and have got to where they are by being smart/frugle with their money

lol at billionairs being stingy.

they should always try to sit ontop of as much money as they can and defiently not contribute it back, because you know money comes with you to the grave.

hotjoint 03-16-2009 07:31 AM

rich people are still cheap like us poor people :)

They're not all stingy. Warren Buffet, who has the least impressive home and cars in this thread, has given most of his fortune away to charity. That's much better than living in opulence.

If I was a billionaire I'd prob drive my corolla to work as well. Even though its a $12k car at most, I'd be happy just knowing I could afford any car I want.

Plus..

How safe would you feel being a billionaire in a supercar.

Yeah, I know that... they don't feel the need to be flashy.

I mean, I'm pretty frugal myself... but if I had millions of dollars, even though I might still use a regular car as an everyday commuter, I'll definitely get a Ferrari or something to cruise around in. :p
