which dealership has "buy a new car and if you lose your job you can return it"

I heard the ad on the radio the other day but i can't remember which dealership/franchise it was.

but bascially it said that during these troubled times you can buy a new car, and if you lost your job you could return it.

just trying to find which manufacture it is and the fine print behind it.

thanks!

Hyundai has this, but I don't know if it's in Canada (US for sure has it, and Hyundai attributes their sales increase to this program).

FatalCloud 03-15-2009 09:53 AM

wouldn't this be the same thing as selling the car? when you return it after losing your job, the dealership obviously wouldn't give you a full refund.

Warp9Racing 03-15-2009 10:02 AM

well thats why i am trying to figure out the fine print / what the terms are etc

tiger_handheld 03-15-2009 10:03 AM

i thought Toyota canada had this too? heard something on the radio re: it.

dustinb 03-15-2009 10:59 AM

I know Hyundai was doing it, but I'm pretty sure other dealerships offer it as well. It isn't a Hyundai program, but is done by a 3rd party insurance company. Basically you pay some "job insurance" fees to this company, and if you are approved and lose your job, then they will buy it back for market value.

guessboi 03-15-2009 11:19 AM

I know a toyota dealership has this in Calgary with a big sign outside.

shenmecar 03-15-2009 03:28 PM

they buy it back for market value???

what if you are financing/leasing then?

One 03-15-2009 05:01 PM

it's called Hyundai Assurance. Google it

Warp9Racing 03-15-2009 05:30 PM

i found on the toyota website but bacially you have to go in for all the detials

jnesss 03-15-2009 09:47 PM

Gh0stRider 03-15-2009 10:49 PM

it's KIA canada that is advertising it. i haven't heard Hyundai canada offering it but i have seen the US commercials from them for the assurance program, but KIA is owned by hyundai?

asian_XL 03-16-2009 08:21 AM

economy like this ...not surprising...

my company is promoting "buy a new life insurance policy and if you lose your job you can get full refund"

Not sure the one that you're hearing on the radio, but the constant commercials on the US tv stations are for Hyundai.

The plan was called Hyundai Assurance, and now it's called Hyundai Assurance Plus.

With the plus they make your payments for 3 months and if you still can't afford the car you can return it.

Not that it matters, but I heard on the radio today that Kia offers this program.
If you lose your job within the first year of owning the car you can take it back

I'm sure there are some conditions though, so at least now you know KIA offers this :D
