House music in Vancouver
 

I've been clubbing in most places in the lower mainland and haven't found a place that plays good house music. Any reccomendations out there?

Still the typical places like Shine, Modern, Lotus Sound Lounge, I think Republic, Celebrities, Bar None. Those I think are still the usual suspects for house music but only on certain nights.

how about Red Room on Saturdays, my friend DJ's there sometimes. There's also Gorg-O-Mish

Ginger, Canvas, Red Room, Crush. Red Room lacks the girls though. Gorg-O-Mish is afterhours and you have no chance of getting in if you're just a group of guys with no girls.

unless you have hookups, i don't think you can even get in if you don't bring a girl.

Yup, couples (guy & girl) or group of girls can get in no problem. Otherwise you need to be on the guestlist.

$40 for guys and I think $20 for girls. Fuckin expensive but good times when you're already fucked up.

i can easily get into gorg-o-mish without waiting in line haha

Also be on the lookout for BC Hothouse DJ events (usually once a month) where they showcase up and coming house DJ talent

Surprised nobody mentioned saturdays @ tunnel. there's also fridays at basement, but that would be hard trance/rave

Basement is super sketch, everyone down there is on coke, speed, E, or K
if you like standing in rows in a room full of drugged up vietnamese parents next to some poor girl who's Khole-ing and behind some dragon tattoo'd asian gangster kid with a man purse, then its the place to go.

yea i gotta admit basement is pretty messed up. i wish there was a different place in van thats like basement, without the old viets and gang bangers

i went there once, my hand was on my gfs thigh, and some fucked up dude came over and said "can you be a little more discreet" and I was like "dude, im touching my girlfriend's leg" he's like "ohhhh fuck, i thought she was wearing a skirt and, you knowwwww...." she was wearing jeans. then we went back across the room and stared at us with a blank look until we left.

partied at Republic on friday night...house music was good...crowd was good... and the girls were HOT...

Guestlist it or you wont get it...

there having a house/electro night at boss this friday...hopefully its good
