WTB: tires 215/45/18 a full set With 45 what does this indicate? IM guessing it indicates the size of the side walls, but how small can you go? Im trying to get some tires with some stretch for my vw but dont know what will look good. Also, any good places to purchase tires. Thanks! |
45 is the % compared to the width, which in this case is 215. 45 is ok for side wall height for stretching. how wide is the wheel its going on? |

If you want to stretch your tires, you're going to need to find a smaller width to do it with. So, instead of 215's, try looking for 195's or even narrower... though in 18's, that might be a tall order. |
